The Green Heart Project

What is the Green Heart Project?

The Green Heart Project fosters environmental consciousness among Matsue Kosen students. In our month-long campaign from January 19~February 14, 2024 we launched a visually impactful project—the posting of a huge green heart at the wall of the Global Commons. This vibrant symbol represents our collective commitment to a greener future. Students write promises for impactful environmental actions on sticky notes, creating a tapestry of shared responsibility.

Mission:

As global engineers for a sustainable tomorrow, our mission is to spread awareness on climate change and inspire positive actions.

Vision:

Our vision is to make the Green Heart Project an annual event, collaborating with local and international partners. We aim to invite sponsors like the city government and local environmental groups to nurture a sustainable community. We plan to expand beyond our campus, involving other colleges in the 51 Kosen campuses in Japan, making the project a beacon for environmental advocacy. Our goal is to extend this initiative to schools outside our community, creating a ripple effect of positive change.

Rationale:

Our ultimate goal aligns with Matsue Kosen's commitment to internationalization through the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Green Heart Project not only upholds the college's 2004 self-declaration for environmental protection but also strengthens our resolve as evidenced by the ISO 14001 certification—an international recognition of our commitment to environmental excellence.

Join us on this journey towards a sustainable tomorrow—where global engineers unite, hearts beat for the environment, and positive actions reverberate beyond our campus. Together, we can make a lasting impact on our planet and contribute to a brighter, greener future for all.
